Erika's Custom Destination Wedding Dress

This beautiful custom bride came into the Modehaus atelier back in January. She and her fiancée Brandon had dreams of a great escape to a dreamy beach in Mexico. She wanted the perfect dress to showcase at a resort in Puerto Vallarta.
Erika’s loving family came with her to all her custom appointments. Her mother Cathy, sisters Ally, Caitlin, and Rachel were so enthusiastic and helpful throughout the custom design process.
Erika dreamed up a bold and romantic dress that would billow in the Pacific Ocean breeze. She chose dramatic slits to show some leg as she walked on the sand and a low back closed with a ribbon and buttons. With touches of lace and hand sewn details, the illusion netting offered minimal and tasteful coverage throughout the ceremony and on the dance floor.
The lace for Erika’s dress was chosen to match a beautiful tattoo she has on her back. She, her mom, and sisters all got similar tattoos during a trip to Thailand. Choosing just the right lace to match the curls and dots in the tattoo made the dress extra special.
From the muslin mock up, choosing the perfect neckline, the hem, and finally going through every point in the bustle, Erika’s warm and wonderful family were full of constant love and support.
