Stitcher and alterations specialist
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for exceptional bridal garment construction and alterations to join our team!
8-20 hours per week to start (opportunity for more)
Starting at $18 per hour based on experience
Monday-Friday with flexible schedule
This position is contract to hire with 90 day trial period

JOB OVERVIEW: Day-to-day duties include project based work on bridal alterations, garment construction, redesign, and patterning. This position includes general office assistance, patterning, handstitching, use of couture methods, and use of industrial machines. The position works closely with designer and owner to provide a unique and exceptional experience for clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To make adjustments to bridal gowns and other wedding attire. Included, but not limited to: hemming, bustling, taking in and letting out, customizing, ensuring proper sizing, lowering necklines, adding lace and other fabrics, shortening sleeves, raising waistlines, etc.
Assisting with project and inventory management
Assisting with collection builds and patterning
General office assistance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in alterations and garment construction
Pattern making and bridal tailoring experience
Thorough knowledge of industrial machines used in alterations and garment construction
Proficient in sewing and making garments
Maintains expected levels of completing excellent technical skills.
Good planning and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Professional appearance and manner
Desire to work in a team
Creative problem solving skills
Ability to handle responsibility with and without supervision
Ability to listen and retain detailed directions
